Meet Dr. Aaron White
I grew up on a horse and cattle ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. While I loved the outdoors and working with our animals, I knew by age 13 that I wanted to be an orthodontist. My orthodontist inspired me – he changed my life by giving me a great smile, and I decided that I wanted to spend my life paying that forward. It’s been even more rewarding than I imagined, and I look forward to giving that gift to people for many years.I studied Biology and Music at Jamestown College and was accepted into dental school early at the age of 20. I attended Creighton University School of Dentistry on a scholarship from the United States Air Force. After graduating near the top of my class, I was commissioned a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, where I graduated #1 in my class.
I volunteered to serve a tour in South Korea, and then I returned to the U.S. for my Orthodontics residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. I graduated as the youngest orthodontist ever in the U.S. military and continued my service with the 81st Dental Squadron, where I taught orthodontics to AEGD and GPR (General Practice Residency) residents for three years. I was also the Chief of Dental Radiology at Keesler, and I published my research on 3-Dimensional Imaging via Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. I achieved the rank of Major before I separated from the Air Force, and my highest military medals include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Commendation Medal.
I fell in love with a Texas girl and got married in the hill country in the fall of 2011. My wife, Leslie, is a naturopathic physician in Austin. Our daughters, Eliana and Camille, are the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, and I love coming home to play with them every day. When I’m not at the office or with my family, I love riding my motorcycle at Circuit of the Americas, the greatest track in the U.S.A. right here in Austin.
I belong to the following professional organizations:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- American Dental Association
- Southwest Society of Orthodontists
- Texas Orthodontic Study Club
- Austin Orthodontic Study Group
- Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society
